I am still very new to this work—my number of professional hours is still few. Yet, I have
noticed that often, people require far fewer sessions than I expected. Particularly when it comes to eating disorders, people can spend years in therapy receiving treatment, and it can be a painful process.
It has come as a great surprise to me that things can change rather swiftly, if a person is
ready. Hypnotherapy and Strategic Psychotherapy can provide insight into your own mind
and open doors that lead you away from your current struggles.
The simple ability to relax can be the first step in healing. Many unwanted personal
circumstances stem from being highly stressed and anxious. Anxiety creates a restriction of
the mind, and this alone makes desired change hard to achieve. Imagine a water pipe that has frozen— in order for the water to flow, the temperature must increase. You could think of
repeated feelings of anxiety as the frozen water in a pipe. Relaxation is the increase in
temperature, and then, with the help of therapeutic hypnosis, your brain and body can start to receive fresh, new messages.
Effective therapy can be brief. You can come away from sessions feeling better, lighter, and
you can also begin to act differently right away. Hypnotherapy aims to disrupt old patterns
and create a disassociation between you and what needs addressing. It makes room for
change. It is also gentle, allowing you to blossom as a whole person. You can grow toward
acceptance, and you can care for yourself in the way that suits you— as the individual you
are.
I am a true believer that with the many possible ways of change and healing available, there
is one that suits you for where you find yourself. There is no "right" way because different modalities are needed at different times and under different circumstances.
