A mind trick to stop weighing yourself...

Thoughts can come about in many ways, but to keep this brief and general, thoughts can be either spontaneous or deliberate. You can choose to think about where you were yesterday at 10 a.m., just as you can choose to think about what you might like to be doing tomorrow at 10 a.m. One can be called a memory, and the other we might label imagination. The truth is—these two are the same in form, and yet they can produce very different feelings.
Yesterday at 10 a.m. may or may not have been an especially pleasant time, but your dream of tomorrow could bring about feelings of peace, joy, or contentment. So, for the sake of healing, what if you chose to focus more on using your imagination, and less on your memory?
Years ago, when I was struggling to overcome particular habits, I began using my imagination to let go of certain compulsions—and it was a great success. I didn’t consider then that I might go on to train as a hypnotherapist, but having experienced the benefits of clinical hypnotherapy, I knew it could work.
This led me to a possible trick I’d like to share—one that may help you stop weighing yourself, if that’s something you’re currently struggling with.
If you feel overwhelmed or panicked while trying to change this habit, rather than avoiding the scale altogether, make a deliberate and conscious choice to stand on it. But as you look at the number, be swift—and imagine seeing 00.0.
Nothing weighs 00.0, so clearly these numbers are absurd—and you know that. When you step off the scale, repeat to yourself: “00.0.” Keep repeating it as you walk away and continue with your day.
Of course, your conscious mind will register the actual number—your eyes will have seen it. But this is a specifically designed mental trick to help break the purpose and meaning of the habit. It’s a deliberate use of imagination to confuse you and trick your mind.
Even if you're currently weighing yourself multiple times a day, keep this exercise the same.
For most of us, body weight is not something we actually need to know. For many people, knowing your weight only causes long-term distress. Here, you can safely—and with conscious personal authority—use the gift and power of your imagination.
Over time, the goal is to end the habit altogether as each time you step on the scale, the number you take notice of, will be exactly the same. Your brain and body will begin to see the act as pointless—and ideally, you’ll soon no longer feel the compulsion at all, and you will have stopped completely.
I’m aware there may be experts who strongly disagree with this technique. But I’ve come to believe that if there’s an easy, safe way to create change, then we have every right to try it.
Feel free to replace 00.0 with anything you like—perhaps 11.1, or even . , @#.!*, or better yet, $$.$. You could step off the scale repeating “money, money, money.” The goal is to loosen the grip of the compulsion and experience true freedom.
Good Luck! 😊😊😊
